Dr. Sylvia Acholonu is a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of clinical experience. She earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Bowie State University in 2014 and her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of Cincinnati in 2018. In 2024, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Chatham State University. Dr. Acholonu graduated with honors in all her academic programs.

As the founder of Visionary Professional Healthcare Services, Dr. Acholonu leads a mental health practice committed to delivering holistic, culturally sensitive care. Her mission is to empower individuals through accessible and compassionate mental health services that foster healing and promote well-being.

Her practice specializes in the management of depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, dementia with behavioral issues, eating disorders, ADHD, and more. She also has vast experience in substance abuse treatment, provides psychiatric care in long-term facilities, and delivers comprehensive outpatient mental health services.
